American cities are the backbone of our country. The majority of our nation’s citizens live in cities and urban areas. Elected officials in urban areas play a huge role in shaping policy on a range of issues that often chart the course for policy makers at all levels of government across our country.

With Donald Trump’s election, American cities are under siege and are being attacked as cesspools of violent crime, mismanagement, homelessness, and chaos. These attacks are part of how Trump and his MAGA supporters have defined the Democratic Party and its agenda.

During the next four years and beyond, urban leaders will increasingly be the power base and face of the Democratic Party. It is critical that we support and elect the next generation of Democratic urban leaders and policy makers. This is how we chart a new path forward. It is how the Democrats provide effective leadership and governance for our most populated areas and help to reclaim our brand as the party of the middle class and working people—with a commitment to public safety, strong responsible financial leadership, and compassion for vulnerable people in all neighborhoods and communities.

Cities Lead the Way PAC (CLW PAC) is dedicated to promoting the election of candidates running for important offices including Mayor, County Executive, City/County Council, and District Attorney/Prosecutor in urban areas who understand that we don’t have to choose between keeping our cities safe and business-friendly and working to meet the needs of every resident in every neighborhood and community.

The candidates Cities Lead the Way PAC supports will:

Make public safety and reducing crime a top priority.

Be strong financial managers focused on creating jobs, attracting new businesses, supporting small business, and making their urban areas a place where working and middle-class people can live, work, and raise a family.

Promote responsible development to ensure cities and urban areas are vibrant and thriving.

Support innovative and forward-looking policies to tackle homelessness and poverty that emphasize mental health services and affordable housing.

Be committed to providing basic city services to all residents of their city.

Be strong communicators and coalition builders.
